Scanmudring-Rotech Subsea is the new Dredging and Controlled Flow Excavation organization formed in November 2011 by Reef Subsea’s acquisition of Rotech’s Subsea Division. This acquisition has created the world leader in Seabed Dredging & Excavation services.

Scanmudring plans and performs precision dredging and excavation services worldwide in deep water, in difficult conditions, and in areas with restricted or limited access. Rotech Subsea specializes in controlled flow excavation - with the largest fleet of equipment in the market, they have built-up the world’s leading position.

Their combined capabilities and expertise are providing added value to their Clients’ Projects in many areas:

The new organization now offers anextended range of seabed services in relation to dredging, deburial and trenching of pipelines and cables, decommissioning, seabed preparation, etc.;

The machines, equipment, tools and assets of the two companies are complementary, which has enabled them to extend the range of clients’ tenders they can access;

The combination of locations and strong market positions in the North Sea, the Americas (from Canada to Mexico) and Asia-Pacific creates a comprehensive network of offices and bases which can extend the services offered to new and existing clients;

In addition to the extension of their own capacities, the new organization can call upon its sister companies – Technocean, Reef Subsea, Power & Umbilical and Specialist Subsea Services - to provide resources in engineering and project management, vessels, trenchers and ROVs, enabling it to access clients’ tenders that call for a full package of services, e.g. mini-EPIC contracts.

This complementary presence in key subsea markets in the North Sea, the Americas and South-East Asia is already benefitting existing clients in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy industries. The client base includes International and National Oil and Gas companies, Offshore Wind Farms Developers and Engineering Houses, as well as main Contractors subcontracting these tasks to specialized contractors. To date both companies have completed more than 500 Projects worldwide.
